Ralph Albert Gibbons

The following was published in the St. George Spectrum:

Ralph Albert Gibbons, age 80, of St. George, UT, passed away October 28, 2008. He was born on March 19, 1928 to Albert Victor Gibbons and Dora Edith Jardine Gibbons in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was raised in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada. Ralph married his sweetheart, Elaine Andrus on July 20, 1963 in the Logan, Utah Temple.

Ralph served in the United States Air Force during the Berlin Airlift and the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in September 1953. Ralph and Elaine served LDS missions in Zagreb, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Nairobi, Kenya, the Midlands, England, Barbados and St. Lucia, West Indies, Tarawa, Karibati, Benemerito de las Americas in Mexico City, Mexico.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Elaine Gibbons; children, David (Patti) Lunn of Las Vegas, NV, Mark Gibbons of Las Vegas, NV, Robert (Karen) Gibbons of Dallas, TX, Debbie (Doug) Whitney of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Juliet (Paul Peake) Gibbons of Knoxville, TN; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Monday, November 3, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT. Visitations will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 So. Bluff St., St. George, UT and Monday, November 3, 2008 at 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Wasatch Lawn Memorial.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Primary Childrens Hospital, Salt Lake City, UT. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Hello!

I was touched by the faithful missionary service of Brother and sister Gibbons when they served in Mexico. I didn't know he had already passed away, but would like to have contact with Sister Elaine Gibbons or any of their children.
